Are you someone who is suffering from a dry, itchy scalp? Well, you are not alone. Millions of us ladies have to fight the embarrassing white flakes, and it is worse when you have long, dark hair up to the waist like I do.

I have experimented with many anti-dandruff shampoos over the years – selsun blue, head and shoulders, tried natural remedies such as apple cider vinegar, baking soda and all kinds of oils. Here’s the breakdown; selsun blue and H&D left my hair dry and did nothing for my flakes even after using it long term; ACV and baking soda left my hair SO dry that I had to apply coconut oil every night to bring it back to its original texture.

I read many articles and fake claims (I knew because I have tried most of them) before I came across Redken scalp relief dandruff control shampoo. I could not find a lot of bad reviews for this shampoo, so I gave it a try.

To use: I have been using this shampoo for a month now and I am loving it. I use it twice a week. I apply a generous amount to my scalp and massage it. I leave it on for five minutes as directed and rinse off. The shampoo however has a strong odor and some may find it unpleasant.

Benefits: My flakes have not disappeared completely but it is definitely a shampoo I will stick to. I say this because my hair has a glossy shine now and the flakes and the itching has reduced. I will keep on using it long term to see its full benefits.

Where to Buy: You can purchase it at Ulta beauty or can order it online from Ulta Beauty, and Amazon

Website: Redken
