It’s a know fact that avocados are good for your body. I am here to tell you that it’s good for your skin as well. (okay, so maybe you have heard this one before).

Why Avocado?

Avocados hydrates and nourishes the skin; they remove dead skin cells without causing irritation.

Avocado contains good amounts of vitamin C for healthy skin. As well as having strong antioxidant properties, vitamin C is needed for the creation of elastin and collagen, which bind your skin cells together and maintain their firmness and structure.

Vitamin E is another skin antioxidant, but since it is fat soluble, it is used by the body in a different way. Vitamin E assists in preventing free radical damage from oxidizing fats in your skin cells that lead to aging skin. Research studies have also demonstrated that vitamin E can reduce the effects of UVA and UVB radiation from sun exposure on skin.

A great moisturizer! One of the main avocado skin benefits comes from their high oleic acid content. This monounsaturated fatty acid maintains moisture in the epidermal layer of your skin, helping to make it soft and hydrated.

Okay, so let’s begin.

Things you’ll need:

1 avocado
1 tablespoon raw, organic honey
Bowl
Spoon

Note: The honey helps brighten the skin and also thoroughly cleanse with natural antibacterial/antimicrobial properties.

Simply mash and combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and apply to your face.
Let sit on your face for about 20 minutes.
Rinse with warm water.

That’s it! So simple and easy, right?

A few tips to keep in mind;

I recommend using this face mask once a week.
You can add egg yolk or olive oil if you prefer (1 tablespoon ought to do it)
This mixture can also be used for dry, frizzy hair (add egg yolk). I have used this on my hair on previous occasions and the results have been great! It leaves my hair frizz-free and super glossy.

Remember, that a natural remedy is ten times better than a chemical one and as you can see, it is not so difficult to prepare yourself a very healthy, and nutritious mask for your face and hair.
